You’re paying for the AI. That doesn’t mean you control what it tells you.

Writing for FastForward, Marianna Konina explores the gap between AI’s promises and its growing costs, then turns to a deeper problem: how easily its answers can be influenced. My i-Con presentation, “How to Hack the Brain of an LLM,” puts that vulnerability in the spotlight.

The article revisits my Aquaponey experiment, describing how fabricated sporting narratives appeared in AI answers with Olympic connections and convincing detail. Funny when it involves ponies in a swimming pool. Less funny when it involves your company’s reputation.

It also connects my session with Craig Campbell’s perspective on brand protection: SEO increasingly means understanding what AI systems discover, cite, and repeat.

Everyone wants an AI assistant. Fewer people ask who has been feeding it.
